Wisdom is a virtue seldom achieved, yet constantly sought. It comes not from a single revelation, but a journey undertaken each day. Here are two guiding principles I’ve found integral to steadily acquiring greater wisdom over a lifetime:
Go to Bed Smarter Than When You Woke Up
True wisdom grows gradually through continuous learning. Each new day presents opportunities to expand our understanding and refine our perspectives. I aim to take advantage of this by ensuring I learn at least one new thing before resting my head at night.
It may be a fascinating fact discovered in a book, an insightful lesson from a podcast, or the solution to a problem I’ve pondered. As long as I retire with more knowledge than when I arose, I know my wisdom is progressing, even if only micro-inches each day. This daily discipline of learning has compounded greatly over the years.
Don’t Try to Figure Everything Out Alone – Learn From Others
